Each Formosa Bonita has its own unique character, but all highlight fruity notes due to high oxidation. This tea is sometimes marketed as Brandy Oolong or Burgundy Oolong and it’s no wonder why. Notes of vanilla, baking spices (such as nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper), toasted grains, earth, oak, stone fruit and dried red fruits make this type of tea similar in flavor profile to brandy or red wine. It has a smooth and thick mouthfeel with a notable sweetness and slight astrigency. The flavor ends in a lingering sweet finish with a moderate but not unpleasant dryness on the tongue.
